Ladysmith Primary School is fortunate to have a Strong Start program located in room 108.  It is open Monday through Friday 8:45 am to 11:45 am.  Due to Covid 19 restrictions, Strong Start is not open at this time.  Our facilitators have been hard at work creating a website to stay connected to families – check it out here: StrongStart
At no cost to families, this early learning drop-in program helps prepare children for success in Kindergarten. Participate with your young child (aged birth to five) in play-based early learning activities – including stories, music and art.  A nutritious snack is provided each day.  Come and prepare your child for a lifetime of learning through Play.

We provide opportunities for skill development in the areas of:

  • Well Being and Belonging
  • Exploration and Creativity
  • Language and Literacy
  • Social Responsibility and Diversity

NEW!  We are excited to share with you that registration for StrongStart can now be completed online. While StrongStart is not yet holding in person sessions, registering your child will allow us to easily connect with you and share about StrongStart opportunities such as our NLPS StrongStart Site and our most recent Play Packs handout. Having your child’s registration complete, will also allow us to be prepared when the time comes to be in person again.

We now have registration available online – it can be done on a computer, tablet or phone:

  • Before you begin the process, please have your child’s birth certificate or passport available.
  • Click the link above and fill in all the required spaces.
  • Upload a photo or scan of your child’s birth certificate or passport.
  • Click the Send button.

If you need support, please contact your school.

For those who prefer, paper copies will still be available. You can also download the PDF Registration form here and bring a hard copy to any in person activity when we start them again.  Please remember a photocopy of your child’s birth certificate or passport is also required.

Thank you for your patience as plans for our StrongStart Centres were made during our current unprecedented Covid-19 times. Currently schools are in Stage 2. In this stage, schools are limiting visitors to the school and therefore the physical doors of our StrongStart Centres are not open to the public at this time. Although we can not see each other in person yet, we are excited to share with you that we are taking our first steps in offering StrongStart virtually.

We are so fortunate to have an amazing team of StrongStart educators who are working together to create for you and your child, a website filled with StrongStart opportunities. You and your child can view videos, sing along, watch, or even take part in these activities at home and safely around our community. Thank you for staying connected with us.
